Steve Holzhausen is recovering from a nasty accident during practice at Dells Raceway Park for an ASA Midwest Tour event. Holzhausen's throttle stuck wide open as he was entering turn three. The car is a big mess, as you can see above and in the other photos HERE, courtesy of Doug Hornickel with Fast Lap Photo.
Holzhausen himself is pretty messed up after the incident. He needed 15 stitches to his chin/face and he also suffered a broken lower left leg and for the most part--a shattered ankle, as well as a broken right pinkie toe. Ligament damage to his left foot is the biggest concern. He had surgery on his foot this week and will likely be laid up for about 10 weeks. Like you--we're all very grateful the incident wasn't any worse than it was and wish him a speedy recovery. |
