Carlson to Return to
La Crosse Speedway
in 2010
Despite his car being sold to former NASCAR Late Model driver, Mike Koeneke...Steve Carlson will be back on a limited basis to "play" at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.

It won't be the full season, as Carlson intends to defend his championship in the ASA Midwest Tour Series this year.

Three Weeks of Probation for Edwards

NASCAR has handed down the punishment to Carl Edwards for his deliberate take out of Brad Keselowski in Sunday's race at Atlanta. They've given him 3-weeks of probation. Some are pretty miffed by the decision, but NASCAR has stated from the start of the season that they're going to let the drivers essentially police themselves, after much has been made of NASCAR forcing such political correctness in their sport.

Edwards posted this on his Facebook page on Sunday night:
My options: Considering that Brad wrecks me with no regard for anyones safety or hard work, should I: A-Keep letting him wreck me? B-Confront him after the race? C-Wait til bristol and collect other cars? or D-Take care of it now? I want to be clear that I was surprised at his flight and very relieved when he walked away. Every person has to decide what code they want to live by and hopefully this explains mine.

It's not right for a driver to intentionally dial out another driver at high speeds on a race track. I know that. I don't condone it when it happens. But I do know that there are MANY drivers in the NASCAR community who will be giving Carl Edwards plenty of pats on the back for the payback he delivered to Brad Keselowski during Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Atlanta.

Early on in the race, with only a handful of laps in--Edwards made an attempt to slide into the low groove, and Keselowski didn't make an effort to give him any room--effectively sending Edwards up the track and into Joey Logano--wrecking both of those drivers.

In the waning laps--Edwards...obviously on a mission for several laps, to dial out Keselowski...did just that. And thanks to the rear wing on his car--Keselowski went airborne in very dramatic and scary fashion. He was not injured--and neither were any fans in the stands--fortunately.

Brad was very miffed in the post incident interview, as is expected...but I personally found it rather amusing to hear this "wronged" driver--after he has done the same thing to many others. Ain't it funny how things change when the shoe's on the other foot?

Last year--after an incident exchange similar to this one--except the players were Keselowski and Denny Hamlin...Keselowski wasn't so miffed. Probably because he didn't wreck his car. As a matter of fact, he went on to say that he was obviously a better driver than Hamlin, as he was able to regain control of his car and not wreck, like Hamlin did. Hmm??

I guess it's a lesson for all...there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. And humble pie doesn't taste too good.

What do you think about the punishment? Or the incident itself?
